Enjoy my sunset photography of the sunset in the Florida Keys this summer! I just signed on to the web and saw that a similar phenomenon was witnessed during sunrise at Mt. Rainier! I tried to upload these to the Huffington Post but had trouble. So, I'll post my own photography, on my own blog......who knows, maybe it will go viral!
If you want to compare the two photographs, the Huffington Post sunset picture and article is located at this link;
The shadow seems to be caused by the large, high cloud and the sun being directed upward due to (maybe)? the density of the cloud formation. I sincerely don't know, but it was awesome to witness! I took many, many shots of this particular sunset. As you turned away from the large cloud and faced directly east 180 degrees, the first two pictures show the blue shadow casted over that side of the horizon. It seemed to radiate from the large cloud over the top of the sky to the East 180 degrees!
Nature is Awe Inspiring!
I'm not sure the two shadows are caused by the same phenomenon but it sure looks like what I saw and was able to capture in Florida this past July! I posted these photographs, taken by me, without a watermark. There is no permission to copy, electronically or otherwise, without my permission! Thank you! I will soon get one of the photos posted in my etsy shop as a listing that can be purchased! I've been meaning to do this but I think NOW is the time!
Enjoy these pictures from a summer excursion on the Mississippi and Black Rivers, outside La Crosse, Wisconsin. Don't forget to check out my Etsy shop, too. I'm adding new pieces daily for the holidays! Check back daily for unannounced sales; find out about them by reading my shop announcement! Thanks! Have a great Thursday!
Good Monday Morning! It was a fabulous fall weekend here! The temperatures were more like summer, in the mid-80's. I can tell you that wasn't conducive to craft show attendees who were probably out cleaning up their yards, taking their boats or motorcycles for one last spin, or just enjoying the beauty of the area we live in!
I can't really complain. This craft show was one of the largest in our area and it was a great experience for me! I had a great booth space, right in the entrance to the room and my neighbors were extremely nice! It also helped that I did not have any other jewelry vendors around me! I signed up to be part of next year's show, with the same booth space! I liked my display and did receive some compliments on that, as well!
I had two big sellers; my Viking Goddess Rings (named for the local high school mascot, not the MN Vikings) and Copper Halloween Earrings! I also sold some new creations that never even made it to my etsy site. One was a gorgeous, triple stranded, Picture Jasper Necklace! And a five stranded Swarovski Crystal AB Bracelet was bought before the show even started yesterday, by a fellow vendor!
I met a fellow etsian, who was also a vendor at this show. This came about by my posting on the WIST Team thread about the show! She was extremely nice and I enjoyed chatting with her. Unfortunately, I never got around to visiting her booth, since I did not have anyone to relieve me, at mine! I'll have to go check out her shop, instead! I hope she understands! I did enjoy meeting her!
About half of the people I spoke with, knew of Etsy. That was reassuring! I did hand out a lot of business cards, too! All of my "sites" are listed on those, so I hope to have some increased traffic going into the holiday season from this increased exposure! My new line of altered art travel photography bracelets were a hit! I sold my bracelet of Washington, D. C., iconic landmarks, to a lady who had just visited there this summer! I hope to have some custom orders for that bracelet line. Many people are interested in them for holiday presents, as I can insert faces of children or grandchildren in the photo frames, as well! There is a three week lead time on those, at the current moment. Please see the pictures above for examples!
This was my third and largest craft show. It was great learning experience and I did fairly well! I do have many items still available, as my newest creations, not yet posted to Etsy, were my sellers. Be sure to check out my Etsy shop for sales and clearance mark-downs. I started a 3 day sale on my necklaces last night! It runs to Wednesday night at 9pm. You'll save 30% on marked necklaces. The prices are already reduced. If you are a local customer that I already know, you can save on shipping by entering coupon code SHIPFREE at check out. I'll contact you to arrange a public place for delivery. Thanks for stopping by!
